History

In the heart of the second largest vineyard in Fronsac, Château de La Dauphine has a constantly renewed ambition: to make its wines one of the benchmarks of the appellation.

Built in 1750, Château de La Dauphine now shines through its history, its working philosophy, the quality of its wines and its dynamism in terms of wine tourism. Unquestionably, this culture of excellence at all levels makes this estate one of the jewels of the Fronsac appellation.

Located on the slopes of Fronsac, the 53 hectare vineyard is mainly composed of Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The estate, which has been certified organic since 2015, advocates an environmentally friendly method of cultivation through the practice of biodynamics. This choice is justified by the desire to place the vine in an environment where it can develop in perfect symbiosis with the surrounding nature.

In order to encourage this “exchange”, an ambitious project has been carried out to reconstitute the biodiversity around the vines. Planting of trees and hedges, installation of beehives and bird boxes, design of watering holes, reintegration of animals… Everything is done to create a natural balance in which the vine is only one element of a vast vegetal ensemble.

As for the wine-making process, the estate is equipped with modern tools at the cutting edge of technology, such as the circular vats with gravity management. These allow us to have total control over the vinification of each parcel.
