History :
A magnificent manor house built during the Directoire period, Château Mazeyres was acquired at the beginning of the 20th century by the Querre family, who set out to produce a fine, fruity wine for the French restaurant trade. In 1988, the family decided to sell the entire property to the Caisse de Retraite de la Société Générale, which in 2010 sold it to Sogecap, the life insurance arm of the same bank. In 2020, a new page was written with the arrival of the Guillard family who, after the acquisition of Château Fonroque in 2017, confirmed their interest in the grands crus. This move reinforces a fertile and complementary collaboration with Alain Moueix, who has been at Château Mazeyres for three decades.
In 1992, Alain Moueix, a viticultural engineer and oenologist, was entrusted with the management of Château Mazeyres. As the fourth generation of a well-known family of Libourne winegrowers and merchants, he brought his commitment, expertise and know-how to the company. Mazeyres enters a new wine region. Close links were created with the Bordeaux wine merchants, who thus participated in the international reputation of Château Mazeyres and remained loyal to Alain Moueix for more than twenty-five years of concerted work.
