History : Since 1821, the Barton family has been writing the history of Château Langoa Barton in Bordeaux. Still owners of this Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it is in Saint Julien that the roots and the heart of the Barton soul are located. The parcels that make up the terroir of Château Langoa Barton “look out” over the river.
The mildness of the temperatures born from this proximity implies an earliness that is often a guarantee of quality. This magnificent quaternary gravel hillside brings each vintage to maturity, and then the grapes are ruthlessly selected for the elaboration of Langoa Barton. At the time of the 1855 classification, Langoa Barton – distinguished as the 3rd Grand Cru Classé Saint-Julien – was already owned by the Barton family. Today, they share with only Mouton-Rotschild the privilege of such a long family continuity.
