Version Française Assemblage : Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc

Bernard Burtschy, Le Figaro Vin, 2015 : 17,5/20

English Version Blend : Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, April 2015 : 93-95/100

The Château Guiraud 2014 has a perfumed bouquet with clear honey, beeswax and honeysuckle aromas that are well defined. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry: good tension and focus here, very harmonious with a gently build in the mouth towards a satisfying marmalade and quince-driven finish. This is a finely crafted Guiraud that will be a class act.

James Suckling,, February 2017: 95/100

The lush mango and papaya nose leads into a wonderfully rich and concentrated palate, which also has bright acidity that really lights the whole thing up and pulls your hand back to the glass for more! Drink or hold.

Jancis Robinson MW,, April 2015: 17/20

Relatively deep gold. Lightly cheesy nose and then massive sweetness on the palate. Really full and impressive. Long and full but with freshness on the finish. Interesting!

Château Guiraud-1er Cru Classé en 1855-Appellation Sauternes
Château Guiraud Château Guiraud, managed by Xavier Platy, located in the heart of the commune of Sauternes, has a 100-hectare vineyard in a single block. The vines are planted around the cellars and the château. The Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes ripen very early at Guiraud and undergo tremendous natural concentration due to the effects of “noble rot” (botrytis). The harvest takes place in several waves and the grapes are literally picked one by one. This process is not only risky, but accounts for very long yields. It nevertheless results in rich, complex wines. The quality of Château Guiraud ‘s terroir (soil+microclimate) earned its classification as a first great growth in 1855.
